Commissions
Sofia Leoni accepts commission proposals of any genre and subject.
Each project begins from photographs or visual references provided by the client and develops through an ongoing dialogue during the process.
Formats and dimensions are always agreed together, while Sofia maintains her own pictorial language and approach. Every commission is created as a one of one, unique oil painting on canvas and is never replicated.
Timing is discussed in advance and respected throughout the process, allowing each work to be developed with care and attention to detail.
All commissioned works are hand-painted in oil and created as one of one pieces. Each painting is unique and conceived specifically for the person who commissions it.
Made for my clients

Maya
Maya was created as a commissioned gift requested by a neighbor and painted from photographs provided by the client.
Sofia focused on a painterly portrait approach, trying to capture the animal’s essence and character through the reference images, with a light and affectionate tone.

Enea
Enea was painted as a commissioned gift for another neighbor and developed as a single portrait study.
Working from photographic references, Sofia aimed to capture the essence of the animal from the reference given.

Trittico Viola
A commissioned triptych developed around a shared chromatic request.
The three paintings are conceived as a unified set, connected by the color violet, while allowing freedom in composition and balance. Each panel contributes to a single visual dialogue.

Armir
Armir is a commissioned work connected to the historical retreat of the Italian Army in Russia during World War II. The Armata Italiana in Russia (ARMIR), also known as the Italian Eighth Army, fought alongside German forces on the Eastern Front in 1942 and was forced into a difficult winter retreat after heavy Soviet offensives.
The painting presented both a technical and emotional challenge, requiring Sofia to step outside her usual subjects while maintaining a restrained and controlled pictorial language.

Nonni di colle
Nonni di Colle was created as a gift and developed as a simple, focused painting.
The work is approached with a quiet tone, emphasizing composition and atmosphere without narrative emphasis.
